About Doodle For Google
Originally started back in the year 2008, Doodle For Google invites various students belonging to grades K-12 to create Google Doodles based on various themes and topics. This puts them up for a chance to get featured on the homepage of Google and win scholarships and awards for them. The students are encouraged to create their unique form of artwork that’s based on each of the given themes each year.
Tip: There’s also Doodle for Google games that are made, but which are not a part of the competition and are made by the designers and developers at Google headquarters.
What’s The Actual Purpose Of It?
The primary purpose of Doodle for Google is being able to celebrate up-and-coming artists. This opportunity gives the students a chance to be able to get their artwork displayed on the site “Google.com” along with other forms of valuable prizes for them and their schools.
Doodle For Google Theme 2024
For the year 2024, the Doodle for Google theme is “My wish for the next 25 years”. Students here are going to have the opportunity to show their imagination and turn it into a suitable doodle creation that fits their interpretation of the given topic.
When Does The Competition Start?
The competition of “Google for Doodle” entries for this year’s (2024) Doodle For Google ran till 14th March. The online voting window for the registered entries is going to run till 22nd May. The nationalist finalist is going to be announced in June 2024.
Who Are Eligible For The Competition?
Students who are studying in Kindergarten – 12 Grade are all eligible to submit their artwork. However, it is to be noted that students can submit only a single artwork each. There’s also another criterion that must be fulfilled by the participants must be enrolled in any of the United States-based schools (including that of homeschool) or school in Puerto Rico. Participants residing in the District of Columbia could also enter the competition.
The children of military personnel who currently reside abroad are also allowed to enter the competition.
Who Ends Up Judging The Submitted Artworks?
For the past couple of years, the Doodle for Google has been judged by people belonging to different creative backgrounds including authors, artists, illustrators, and musicians — who have excelled in their creative fields. In the year 2021, Selena Gomez was made a judge for the Doodle For Google contest.
Among the panel of judges, Doodle For Google also invites National Teacher Of The Year to be one of the judges. For the previous Doodle for Google 2023 competition, Rebecka Peterson was made the ‘National Teacher of The Year’.
